The former Real Madrid right-back was a prime target for Chelsea in the summer before completing a reported €60million (£51.5m) transfer to the Parc des Princes from Serie A champions Inter Milan.
Speaking with French news outlet L'Equipe, the Moroccan opened up about why he refused a move to the Blues in favour of the Parisians.
"I had two offers, one from Chelsea and one from Paris Saint-Germain. But I felt I had to come to Paris, that I would have been happy there.
"PSG is a great club, I really appreciate the support the fans gave me straight away. I was lucky because so many other champions joined me. "I feel good at PSG, we have a dream team and I’m happy to be a part of it."
Hakimi is doing amazing with PSG since his arrival and has featured seven times with 3 goals and two assists for the side in the Ligue 1.
Hakimi was a delight to watch in PSG's 2-1 win over Metz where he scored twice to record seventh consecutive league win for the 2019-20 Champions League losing finalists.
With the quest for winning the Champions League for the first time, PSG have bolster their squad with marquee signings.
Hakimi was a crucial member in Antonio Conte's squad that won Inter's first Serie A title in 12-years last season.
