Berbatov Says Van De Beek Is Running Out Of Time To Salvage His Career At Man United

Bulgaria legend Dimitar Berbatov has insisted that midfielder Donny van de Beek is running out of time to salvage his career at Old Trafford.

Berbatov says the Netherlands international ‘looks lost’ in Manchester United and insists the 24-year-old is yet to adapt to life in England.

The Dutchman arrived in England from Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam with a huge potential of someone who is destined for greatness but it has not been the case so far.

Van de Beek has been on the periphery in Manchester, having had to endure a debut season where he played only 19 times in the Premier League.

His 2021/2022 season is going on similar tangent and Berbatov believes Van de Beek is running out of time to establish himself in Manchester.

The ex-Man Utd striker told Betfair: “Van de Beek looks lost. He is running out of time to save his United career.”

“He started against Young Boys but was substituted at half-time. This has been the story of his time at the club. If he plays, he’s brought off. If he comes on, he gets 10 minutes. He never gets the chance to settle and show what he can do.”

“It’s just not working out for Van de Beek. It’s a pity because United paid big money for him. But this is what happens when you spend money just to satisfy your fans. I still hope he gets a proper chance but it is going to be very difficult for him and the club may decide to cut their losses if they can.”
