The Blaugrana were battered 3-0 at their own backyard by their German opponents, with goals from Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski’s brace condemning them to their third straight home defeat in Europe’s premier club competition as they also failed to record a single shot on target.
Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman now has more problems to contend with as Pedri and Alba have added to their injury concerns ahead of their return to La Liga action against Granada on Monday.
The Spanish internationals suffered muscular problems against the Bavarians, with Alba getting substituted after 74 minutes while Pedri lasted the entire duration of the game following his return from a three-week rest.
A statement on Barcelona’s website read: "The first team player Pedri has a quadriceps muscle injury in his left thigh."
"The player is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.
"Tests carried out on Wednesday morning on the first team player Jordi Alba show that he has a hamstring injury in his right thigh.
"The player is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return."
Barcelona already have the likes of Sergio Aguero, Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite and Ansu Fati unavailable for selection due to various fitness issues.
