Agbonlahor has labeled his compatriot as a ‘complete midfielder’ and believes he will improve Jurgen Klopp’s men.
The 18-year-old is gradually living up to his hype since he moved to the Bundesliga to play for Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2020.
His fast rise to prominence has forced many top European teams to monitor his progress at the Signal Iduna and Liverpool are said to be one of the clubs willing to pay £80 million to bring the England international to Anfield.
Agbonlahor, who was speaking to talkSPORT Breakfast, believes the former Birmingham City man’s style suits Liverpool and he would succeed in Merseyside.
“I think Jude Bellingham suits the Liverpool team,” he said “I think he’s a complete midfielder.
“The age he’s at now, he’s going to get better and better so it makes sense for Liverpool.
“They need to get more players in that team, they’ve not replaced [Gini] Wijnaldum, Harvey Elliot is a good player but they need someone like Bellingham in there.
“£80m is a lot of money but that’s the way the football world is working at the moment.”
Bellingham has started the 2021/2022 season on a high for the Black and Yellows, having scored one and provided two assists in his first three Bundesliga appearances.
