Mbappe has been influential for both club and country, playing a pivotal part in France’s World Cup truimph in Russia.
With Ronaldo known for his pace and drbbling skills, the former World Cup winner admits the 22-year-old plays like him.
“He has similar characteristics to mine,” Ronaldo said. “He has crazy qualities, has a remarkable technique and knows how to use it at high pace.
“He has a go at defenders, skips the goalkeepers. He has running skills, as they say. And although he’s very you, he has already come a long way. I like Mbappé, I cheer for him.”
Having brought Lionel Messi from Barcelona to partner Neymar and Mbappe upfront, Paris Saint-Germain expect to win a first Champions League title this season, but Ronaldo believes the availability of high profile figures doesn't guarantee Champions League success, comparing it with his time at Real Madrid.
“It’s still early to understand who will win the cup, the picture begins to take shape in the quarter-finals,” Ronaldo added.
“Paris Saint-Germain are in pole position, but talking is one thing, playing another. Many factors affect what happens on the pitch.
“I was at Real Madrid for almost five seasons, in the ‘Galacticos’ team [with Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Luis Figo, among others] and I have never won the Champions League.
“Winning is never mathematical, even if you have the best in your team. This also applies to PSG.”
