Pochettino says it is a blessing for the French side to have a player of Mbappe’s caliber right after the France international scored twice against Reims on Sunday.
The 22-year-old has a year left on his current contract at the Parc des Princes but he is reluctant to extend his stay in the French capital.
The board have presented numerous offers to the 2018 World Cup winner but Mbappe has refused to sign and is said to be yearning for a dream move to La Liga to feature for Real Madrid. Los Blancos are also keen to sign him before the closure of this summer’s transfer window.
He once again stole the show in PSG’s latest outing against Reims as he scored two goals to help beat the hosts and Pochettino has waxed lyrical about the Frenchman.
“He is our player. But you know the business, it’s full of rumors,” the former Tottenham Hotspur coach told Amazon Prime after the match. “Our president [Nasser Al-Khelaifi] and our director [Leonardo] are very clear. He is here with us and we are happy with him. He is an important player, and it is a gift to have him with us.”
