Messi is close to joining PSG and is expected to have his medical this week after leaving Barcelona as a free agent
And being happy to have Messi as his teammate should the deal materialised, Donnarumma believes the arrival of the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will be a boost for the side.
“I’m getting along very well in Paris,” Donnarumma told Sky Sport Italia.
“I got to know the team, it’s a great group that gave me a wonderful welcome. It’s all going really well.
“We’ll find out soon if it’s official or not, but that would seem to be the case, and I am very happy that Leo is coming here. He’s the best in the world, so I can’t help but be excited and happy. It’s an honour to play with him.
“The image I have in my mind is of the whole squad, in a circle at the end of the game with the staff and coach. That’s what will always be in my thoughts.
“We still have a Whatsapp group and joke around all the time.”
Donnarumma joined PSG as a free agent after refusing to sign a new contract with AC Milan.
The 22-year-old led Italy to the Euro 2020 final as they defeated England in the penalty shoot-out with the Azzurri winning a first major trophy in many years.
According to reports, Messi is expected to be launched as the new PSG player in Paris on Wednesday.
