Eriksen Pays First Visit At Inter Milan Since Cardiac Arrest

Christian Eriksen has visited Inter Milan training ground since his cardiac arrest as the club disclosed the 29-year-old is in "excellent mental and physical shape."

Eriksen is still on his recovery process after he collapsed in Denmark's Euro 2020 opening fixture with Finland.

In a way to monitor his situation carefully, Eriksen had a heart-starting device fitted days after the match.

Having been away for sometime following the unfortunate incident, Eriksen on Wednesday paid a visit to Inter Milan teammates, staff and directors at the Suning Training Centre.

After a thorough check on the former Tottenham Hotspurs man, Inter Milan in a statement on their website said:

"Eriksen is doing well and is in excellent physical and mental shape.

"He will now follow the recovery programme put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also co-ordinate the clinical follow-up.

"The Inter medical staff will naturally be kept informed and up-to-date throughout the process."

Referee Anthony Taylor who was the match official for the game in which Eriksen collapsed, narrated the scenario to BBC Sport on Tuesday, insisting he was aware that the midfielder was in trouble.

"The only thing that was close to him was a bouncing ball which hit his knee," said Taylor.

"I could see his face as he fell. I knew straight away something was wrong because of how his face looked and how he fell to the floor. That is what concerned me the most."

The former Ajax player joined Inter from Tottenham in January 2020, and has since featured 44 times in the Serie A with 4 goals.

Inter Milan will be led by Simone Inzaghi to defend the Scudetto, a title they won under the helm of Antonio Conte last season.
