The Uzbekistani forward believes his move to Roma ‘It’s a huge step for me'.
The 26-year-old joins the Giallorossi on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for €17.5 million plus €2.5 million in bonuses.
Shomurodov was with joy after finalising his dream move to Serie A.
“I am definitely excited. It’s a huge step for me. I will try to showcase my game and make the fans happy,” the former Genoa man told Roma’s official website.
“Roma are one of the best teams in Italy. And there are many positive aspects that attracted me.”
But why did he choose the Giallorossi?
“Many good things: I saw how the fans support the team, how the games go. I used to watch a lot of Roma matches, so I know a bit about it,” the 26-year-old said.
“It all got decided very quickly. They were very eager to get it signed and I think they acted very quickly. So that was positive too. And now I’m here, of course.
“I always try to aim high. So that’s also very important for me to take on that next challenge.
“I would like, first of all, to help my team to win trophies and overcome challenges too,” he continued.
“I will do everything I can in that regard. I want to do my very best and keep improving.
