Tuchel has urged his compatriot to be more decisive in the final third after missing a couple of chances against the Gunners.
Werner had to endure a torrid time in his debut season in the Premier League, having scored only six goals in his first 35 outings.
The 25-year-old continued the trend in his first preseason game, as he drew blank against Mikel Arteta’s side.
Despite his failure to find the back of the net, Werner teed up Kai Havertz to score Chelsea’s first goal of the game on 26 minutes before striker Tammy Abraham got the Blues’ winner on the 72nd minute mark after Granit Xhaka had equalized for Arsenal on 69 minutes.
“I hope not,” responded Tuchel when asked if Werner’s lack of goals is going to be an ongoing problem, via Football London.
“He had an assist and we talked and analyzed last season often enough given his situation. Nothing has changed so far.
“He had a so-so Euros with Germany but that was a concern of the whole team, not his personal problem. Then he had some days off and it’s on him, like always, to show his quality and ability.
“It’s very hard with the first 45 minutes after a tough week that we put into the players, it’s not easy for the players to like at this kind of level. I was happy.
“He was dangerous and there were chances when he could’ve been more decisive. He could’ve scored and got another assist.”
