The Portuguese gaffer stated that the Giallorossi fans ‘are my kind of fans’ and underlined the Italian capital has ‘history, power and passion’.
"The Roma fans are my kind of fans, they are great, Mourinho said. “The Olimpico is fantastic. The city has history, power and passion.
"Setubal? Home is the only word to describe it. I’m a citizen of the world, but Setubal is home."
In an interview with La Lupa’s official YouTube channel, Jose responding to questions from the Roma fans on his three favourite dishes in Italy replied;
"I could say 30. Even when I was in London, my favourite restaurants were the Italian ones,” he continued.
"I could say lemon piccata or tomato ravioli or many others.
"I love Italian food, but I have to pay attention to my shape."
Mourinho also admitted that he needs to learn more Italian words.
"Daje Roma," he continued.
"But I have to learn a few more words. In my staff there’s the right person to teach me."
Following a poor run of form last season by Roma under the tutelage of Paulo Fonseca, Mourinho was appointed to replace the Italian manager ahead of the 2021-22 season.
Jose Mourinho has craved a niche for himself as a genius who helps clubs to win trophies and his arrival at Roma could change the status of the club.
The 58-year-old, with host of tophies in his career has managed clubs like Porto, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, among others.
In view of hitting the ground running at Roma, Mourinho has signed former Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio and also blocked the transfer of Lorenzo Pellegrini to Tottenham Hotspurs.
