Moise Kean spent last season on loan at Paris Saint-Germain and has returned to Everton after the loan spell as PSG has no option in the loan deal to make his stay permanent but is ready to welcome the Italian forward back to the team.
Kean was loaned to the French giants for more playing time but failed to cement a place in the starting line-up at the Parc de Princes.
Playing part in Everton's pre-season game with Pumas in the Florida Cup yesterday, Kean scored the only and a winner for the Toffees.
And providing updates on Kean's future, Benitez said;
“I think it’s important for a striker to score, so good news for him and for us. It’s an early stage in the pre-season, so we have to keep working and see what happens,” Benitez said.
“The problem of the transfer window is that it ends at the end of August, so we’ll have to play games and make decisions on players. It’s important for them to understand that they have to carry on and for him to score goals is the best way to make his point.”
Everton completed the recruitment of Kean from Juventus for €30 million in 2019 and has scored just four goals in 37 appearances for the Toffees.
Kean, who is contracted with Everton until June 2024 was included in a preliminary Italy squad ahead of the Euro 2020, but lost his place in the final 26 man squad due to his lack of playing time at club level.
If Kean remains at Everton he will be available for selection when the Merseyside outfit begins their 2021-22 Premier League season at home with Southampton on August 14.
