Manchester City are in hunt for a goal poacher and had since been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspurs forward Kane.
But the Citizens are expected to raise a whopping £150 million for the services of highlly-rated Kane which Sinclair believes it will profit City a lot should they ignore the expensive chase for the 27-year-old and rather use an amount less than that of Kane's price tag to sign Abraham, who is not in his top form.
"He's a young enough player and with Pep Guardiola's coaching ability and the teammates around him... he's a top player.
"No player's perfect, especially at 22 or 23, but there's a lot of growth there with Tammy.
"He'd be someone I'd be very interested to see at Manchester City.
"It just goes against my principles of what I think about the club. Honestly, it really does.
"I just don't want to see the club going out there and spending that ridiculous amount of money to bring one player in. That just kills it then. You might as well pack up."
Harry Kane seems to be angling for a move away from the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium to search for trophy success but club chairman Daniel Levy is somewhat acting reluctant to let him exit after appointing Nuno Espirito Santo as the new boss.
With all said, it will be difficult for Tottenham to keep Kane when Pep Guardiola's City are desperate to bring him to Etihad this summer.
