Mane has admitted that his last season’s form was nothing to write home about but he is ‘well prepared mentally and physically’ to impress in the 2021/2022 season.
The Senegalese has etched his name as one of the current best footballers in Europe, having formed a deadly trio with other team-mates Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino at Anfield.
Liverpool lost their mojo right after clinching their first league title in 30 years, and Mane happened to be one of the reasons for the Reds’ slump.
Jurgen Klopp’s men managed to finish 3rd on the Premier League table last season despite a poor run of form.
Mane says he raring to go again and is ready to match his standard which has dropped last season.
The former Southampton man told Liverpool’s official website: “Well, I think like I said at the beginning, and when I said it, I meant it, for sure. It was not my best season, which I know.
“Like I always said, it can happen in football but I think it won’t be the same [next] season. For sure, I am more ready, mentally, physically, everything, so I think it will be for myself an exciting season.”
He added: “Yeah! I think for sure it will be a different season and it will be another great season for Liverpool Football Club.”
