Bayern Munich Boss Unworried Despite Lewandowski Exit Rumours

Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed he is unperturbed about rumours surrounding the future of striker Robert Lewandowski.

Nagelsmann says it is normal for a striker of Lewandowski’s perspicacity to be linked to many big European clubs.

The Poland superstar, who has a contract at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2023, is said to be on Chelsea’s wishlist this summer.

With the exit of Olivier Giroud, and the current complex transfer saga of Erling Haaland at Dortmund, the Blues are said to be mulling over the possibility of signing the 32-year-old.

Manchester City are also in the market looking to replace Sergio Aguero, who joined Barcelona this summer after ending his ten-year stay at the Etihad Stadium.

“The rumors about Robert Lewandowski have been around for ages, I think since he joined Bayern Munich,” Nagelsmann told Sky Germany.

“I think it’s normal for someone who scores so many goals that almost every club puts out a feeler.

“I think on one hand Robert knows what he has in Munich, what he has in this team. I’ve spoken to him and texted him.

“I’m not very fond of the first official act with a player being to immediately discuss his contractual situation.”

Lewandowski once again ended a Bundesliga campaign on a high, as he scored 41 goals in 29 games breaking the long standing record of legendary Gerd Muller, who once scored 40 goals in a season.
