The Manchester United defender insists England’s players are ‘all behind’ the devastated Arsenal forward following his penalty miss in The Three Lions’ Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.
Shaw, 26, broke the deadlock for England inside two minutes but Italy managed to draw parity to send the game into extra-time, thanks to Leonardo Bonucci's equaliser in the second half.
After Marcus Rashfors and Jadon Sancho all missing around from the spot kick, Gianluigi Donnarruma went on to deny Saka scoring his decisive kick to earn Italy the victory over England.
Saka, felling disappointed broke down in tears and was consoled on the pitch by his teammates including manager Gary Southgate.
But Shaw, who had a splendid tournament stressed his colleague is fully supported by all his teammates.
"He's devastated; Shaw said of Saka after the game.
"But I think the most important thing for us now as a team is obviously to be there for him.
‘We gave him a big hug, told him to keep his head up, it happens.
‘It’s a penalty shootout, anything can happen as a lot of people know. It’s an experience he’ll learn from but we’re all behind him, he knows that.
‘Not just him, Rashy and Sanch, we’re with them all, we win as a team and lose as a team. There’s no individuals who cost that."
Aside Saka's penalty missed, the 19-year-old was a delight to watch in England's Euro 2020 campaign as he featured four times for the Three Lions in his first major tournament for the side.
Saka who, has been a key cog for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta will look to do more for the Gunners this season after making thirty-two appearances, scoring 5 goals with 3 assit last season.
