Bonucci Fires Warning To England Ahead Of Euro Showpiece

Italy will be facing England in the final of the Euros on Sunday and defender Leonardo Bonucci has fired a warning to the Englishmen.

Bonucci believes it will be a game of ‘youngsters versus veterans’ but he believes Roberto Mancini’s men will be the champions at the Wembley Stadium.

Mancini is relying on much experienced players like Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, 32-year-old Ciro Immobile, and Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne among others.

The Azzurri’s opponents are much younger and many are playing their first international tournaments for the Three Lions.

19-year-old Bukayo Saka, 21-year-old Jadon Sancho, and 22-year-old attackers Mason Mount have all started in the tournament for Gareth Southgate’s men, while 18-year-old Jude Bellingham has also made a couple of cameos.

“It is the youngsters versus the veterans,” Bonucci said at a press conference ahead of the Euro 2020 final.

“The English forwards are very strong and are great players, so the whole team must be very cautious in our defense.

“We know how they can bring difficulties for us, so we will need to pay a lot of attention to the pace and quickness of their forwards like Harry Kane and the others.

“On Sunday we will have great players in the one-on-ones, but I am very confident because all of our players will give 100 percent to bring something historic home.”

Italy got to the final after impressively beating the likes of Austria, Belgium and Spain in the knockout phase following a perfect Group A campaign.

England on the hand, knocked out the likes of Germany, Ukraine and Denmark to book their first final in the competition’s history.
