Sarri believes Jorginho should not be exempted from the potential figures to win the Ballon d'Or.
The former Napoli player lso played an important role in Chelsea's Champions League victory when they defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final.
And with The Azzurri booking their place in the final after eliminating Spain in the penalty shoot-out Sarri has rallied support behind the midfield maestro to be a contender for the Ballon d'Or award.
Jorginho once again was a delighted to watch in Italy's 2-1 victory over Roberto Martinez's side Belgium before setting a crunchy fixture against Spain.
Having been signed by Chelsea in 2018 under Sarri, Jorginho has often been criticized for his lack of pace and defensive ability since arriving at Stamford Bridge but has developed to become a key cog at Chelsea.
However, with the 29-year-old impressive form at both club and country, Chelsea's former boss Sarri in an interview with SportItalia is optimistic his former player player should be in the running for Ballon d'Or this year.
"If he European Championship were to win [with Italy], it is clear that he would become one [a contender]. He is a refined player, probably not understandable by everyone. You have to set your eyes on him and only watch him in the game. He is so good and intelligent that he makes everything seem easy, rarely anything spectacular remains in your eyes."
Jorginho joined Chelsea in 2018 on a five-year contract for a transfer fee of £50m with £7m in potential add-ons.
The former Hellas Verona man scored 7 goals in twenty-eight league matches with one assist for the London-based club last season.
