Klopp Doesn’t See England As Pushovers Ahead Of Germany Clash

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has insisted it ‘will be crazy’ to write England off in the upcoming Round of 16 game in the Euros against Germany on Tuesday.

Klopp has urged Germany ‘to make a real go’ at England at the Wembley Stadium when the two sides meet.

The Three Lions are seen as underdogs against Joachim Low’s side but Klopp has warned his countrymen against being complacent.

Germany managed to qualify from the acclaimed group of death to book a date with Gareth Southgate’s men, who comfortably qualified from Group D as winners.

Die Mannschaft have been England’s boogey team in tournaments, having knocked them out of the Round 16 stage in the 2010 World Cup and the semi-final of the 1996 Euros.

Germany have been tipped to go through at the expense of the Englishmen, but Klopp believes it will be a bad idea for the Germans to underrate England.

“To write off Germany now, it would be crazy,” Klopp told BILD when he was quizzed on Germany’s chances of beating England.”

“We played well against France, Portugal we dominated like hardly any other opponent in recent years.

“We struggled against Hungary, yes. But nothing more happened. Sometimes as a team you need such a game.

“And now we’re going to make a real go of it on Tuesday.”
