A report by talkSPORT suggests Grealish's switch from his boyhood club to the blue side of Manchester is ‘as good as done’.
With Pep Guardiola aiming to defend the Premier League title and winning Champions League trophy for the first time for Manchester City, the addition of in-form Grealish could be a step ahead for the Spaniard.
Despite Villa disclosing their wonderman is not for sale – a transfer is edging closer.
Jim White, a broadcaster with talkSPORT on Friday morning, reported that: “According to talkSPORT sources, Jack Grealish to Man City is as good as done.
“Villa haven’t confirmed it, there is no confirmation coming out of Man City, but talkSPORT sources tell me it’s as good as done.
“The fee will be £100m and Jack Grealish will join Manchester City.
“I received the news just as I was coming on air, it’s very close to completion, it’s very close to being done.”
The £100 million move for the 25-year-old who still has a four-year deal on his current contract with Villa could become a new British transfer record, which is hold by Paul Pogba at £89m after he re-joined Manchester United from Juventus in 2016.
Villa's signing of Emiliano Buendia from Norwich, could serve as a replacement for Grealish, who is close to joining Manchester City.
