Jenas believes the champions of Europe are favourites to land Haaland, who is reportedly rated at €200 million by the Bundesliga outfit.
Haaland is one of the most coveted footballers in Europe and many big clubs are mulling over a possibility of acquiring his services.
The likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United are all monitoring the current situation of the Norway international at the Signal Iduna, but the Blues are said to be in a pole position to sign Haaland.
“Chelsea are the only football club that could get Haaland tomorrow,” said Jenas as quoted on Football London.
“That is how their model works. The Haaland deal is very complicated. There are a lot of payments, the dad, the agent, then you have to get the top fee to get him out from Borussia Dortmund this year.
“If you wait a year, you get him for significantly less than you would now. But you are in a competitive market where it will drag the price higher.”
The 38-year-old added: “Chelsea can pay the wages. You can easily see Roman Abramovich turning to Thomas Tuchel and going, ‘Listen, here is £200m go and get what you want’.”
Haaland is currently on holiday after another successful season with Dortmund where he scored 41 goals and provided 12 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the Black and Yellows.
