Football World Pay Tribute To Christian Eriksen

The football world has paid tribute to Christian Eriksen, who suffered a heart distress in Denmark’s game against Finland in the Euros on Saturday.

The Inter Milan midfielder dropped down towards the end of the first half when the game was at 0-0 and referee Anthony Taylor had to stop proceedings for Eriksen to receive medical attention from the medics.

Eriksen was given CPR by medical staff and defibrillators were used. Minutes later he was taken to hospital on a stretcher.

The severity of the 29-year-old’s situation was further known after he was taken to the hospital and the game was allowed to continue as Denmark lost 1-0 thanks to a second half goal from Joel Pohjanpalo.

Eriksen’s former club Tottenham, Arsenal, Germany and Fabrice Muamba, who once had his fair share of similar incident on the pitch, shared their support as the football world rallied around the Dane via their various social media account.

Germany national team: Our thoughts are with you @ChrisEriksen. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
