Man City Chairman Describes 2020/2021 Season As Remarkable

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has described the club’s 2020/2021 season as remarkable despite failing to complete the treble by winning the Champions League.

Al Mubarak reveals he is content with what his team has achieved in the just ended campaign and insists he is excited for the Citizens’ future.

Pep Guardiola’s men started the 2020/2021 season poorly, having had to endure a torrid time especially in the Premier League.

The Spanish coach steadied the ship towards the festive season as Manchester City mounted a 28-game unbeaten run which skyrocketed them to the summit of the Premier League.

City also made it to the final in the Carabao Cup for the fourth consecutive time and eventually beat Tottenham Hotspur to the trophy thanks to Aymeric Laporte’s header.

The Manchester-based club wrapped up the Premier League title with three games to end the league season.

They also made to it their maiden Champions League final where they fell short as Chelsea beat them 1-0 to hoist their second trophy in the competition’s history.

Al Mubarak was reviewing Manchester City’s season with the club’s official website and the Qatari businessman admitted he is happy with what Guardiola’s side achieved.

“[It was] a remarkable season by any description,” he said.

“But it’s also a culmination of years of hard work to reach a level of consistency, a level of expectations, that this club has reached now, which is a Club that will compete year in, year out. You can’t win every year, but year in, year out, we’re going to be there.”
