Manchester United Need Five More Signings- Giggs

Ryan Giggs believes former team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs five more signing to make Manchester United great again.

Ahead of Sunday’s trip to Newcastle United, Manchester United have taken only nine points from seven games and are already 15points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

The Red Devils have not scored more than one goal in a game since winning 4-0 against Chelsea in their opening Premier league game in August.

Manchester United are enduring their worst start to a top-flight season despite heavily spending on players like Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James in the summer transfer window.

‘I see what Ole is doing and I support that,’ Giggs told The Sun. ‘He’s brought in three players but he probably needs seven or eight. ‘

‘So he needs another four or five. But you can’t do that over one transfer window, so you have to be patient because it will be slow. ‘What he is trying to do was much needed. He needs time.’

The Welshman also defended manager of Newcastle United, Steve Bruce, who is also having a difficult start to life at Saint James’ Park.

Newcastle are second from bottom in the league after picking up just a single win all season.

Giggs added: “I knew Brucey as a player and he was a leader.

"I've also spoken to players who have played for him and they have enjoyed it. It's a tough club, Newcastle.

"When you don't win regularly at big clubs you are going to get criticized.

"But Brucey and Ole are big enough characters to turn it around, with time and a bit of luck. Every manager needs that."
