Mason Mount Wins Chelsea Player Of The Season

England midfielder Mason Mount has been named as the Chelsea Player of the 2020/2021 Season.

Mount was chosen by Chelsea fans across the world due to his exploits in the ongoing campaign.

The 22-year-old has been instrumental both under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel, helping Chelsea to the Champions League and FA Cup finals. Mount’s performances has also been vital in Chelsea’s quest to secure top four.

The former Derby County and Vitesse man has played more matches than any Chelsea player this term and has also improved on his attacking output.

Mount has played 51 matches for Chelsea across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in the process.

He netted a crucial winning-goal as Chelsea put rivals Liverpool to the sword at Anfield on March 4 and a crucial goal in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against FC Porto.

Mount also scored a late goal against Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea beat the Spanish giants 3-1 on aggregate to set a date with Manchester City in the Champions League final.

The Chelsea academy graduate’s displays and leadership qualities forced Lampard to name him as captain for the first time in the FA Cup victory against Luton in January.

Mount will be presented with the trophy prior to Chelsea’s crucial game against Leicester City in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
