Inter Milan have clinched their 19th Scudetto and their first league title in ten years and will be looking to finish the season on a high.
After braking the domestic dominance of Juventus this season, Conte and his men will be looking to dent the Bianconeri’s hopes of finishing in the top four when the two teams come up against each other in the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Saturday.
Conte has admitted that the 2-0 win over Juventus in the first leg at San Siro was the turning point of his men’s heroics.
“It’s clear that, when you face the best, you have the possibility to understand your level,” Conte told InterTV. “Beating the team that have won the Scudetto nine years in a row and created a significant gap, had great importance for me, in terms of self-esteem, self-awareness.
“It could turn out to be a boomerang, to make ourselves presumptuous and excessively sure of our means but did well to capitalize on that game in the right way and continuing on our path.”
“Honestly, I didn’t imagine that the balance of power could change so much after one round,” the Italian continued. “I had predicted a very tight championship and it actually was, except for Inter, who took their own path and has reached the finish line.
“One team, ours, have done extraordinary things and have detached ourselves from the others. We have done something unexpected, also in terms of how it was done.”
