Ginola believes the former Santos man’s best years are behind him and says his contract renewal is worthless unless the Ligue 1 champions tie Kylian Mbappe down to a new deal.
Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona before the beginning of the 2017-2018 season for a world record fee of €222 million.
The 29-year-old has won a lot of trophies with the Ligue 1 outfit but his future in Paris had always been under scrutiny with a potential return to the Camp Nou.
Neymar put an end to every rumour last week by agreeing a new deal from PSG to remain at the club until the summer of 2025, and Ginola, who played for the Parisians between 1992 and 1995, believes the Brazilian did not deserve a new contract.
"The important thing to win trophies is stability in a group. To gain Neymar's loyalty even more, I think that's a very good thing,' he told France Info. "Winning matches with one player today like back then, you could do with [Michel] Platini and [Diego] Maradona, I think those days are over.
"We cannot sign Neymar again without securing the signature of Kylian Mbappe. Neymar is 29 years old, his best years are behind him.
"Mbappe is more about youth, talent in its raw state, he is a boy who has enormous potential, but we are only at 60% of his capacities. Except that today, all these players will have to realise that they cannot win anything if they do not put themselves at the service of a group."
