After the pulsating game in the first leg at the Allianz Arena last week when PSG beat the Bavarians 3-2, the Parisians needed to avoid a two-goal defeat against Bayern to progress into the last four.
The game at the Parc des Princes started in a similar fashion but both teams failed to break the deadlock in the opening stages despite an end-to-end stuff.
Neymar and Kylian Mbappe both hit the post seconds before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored on the 40th minute mark to give the visitors the hope of turning the tie on its head.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men kept Hansi Flick’s men at bay for the rest of the game to secure a place in the semi-final.
Speaking to the media after the game, Neymar told RMC: “I am very happy. We faced Bayern like a great team. We eliminated the European champion, a great team.
“The objectives are respected. We return to the semi-finals. We hope to have a good half. It's true that we continued to talk to each other during the match, to get organized.
“We have seen that Di Maria has changed today. My lack of realism? All those wasted opportunities ... I missed him so little. But the most important thing is that we are qualified.
“Stay in Paris? PSG are a great team. Now we are in the semi-finals and we dream bigger. "
