Trezeguet Names His Best Attacking Duo In Serie A

Former France and Juventus forward David Trezeguet has labeled Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez as the best attacking duo in the Serie A.

Trezeguet believes Lukaku and Martinez are the duo carrying Antonio Conte’s men to glory this season.

The duo have been lethal since Lukaku joined the Nerazzurri from Manchester United last season. They scored 55 goals in all competitions as Inter Milan finished second in the league.

The Belgium international and Martinez have once again been Inter’s main men in front of goals this campaign.

Lukaku has netted 25 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions while Martinez on the other hand has scored 16 goals and provided nine assists.

Inter Milan are seeking to win their first league title since the 2009/2010 season and will be dwelling on the brilliances of Lukaku and Martinez towards the business end of this campaign.

“The Lukaku-Lautaro duo is the most important one,” Trezeguet said, via Football Italia. “They are two players who have scored a lot, they respond to [coach Antonio] Conte’s needs.”

Elsewhere, a 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is showing no signs of stopping. The Portugal international has found the back of the net 30 times in 34 games in all competitions for Juventus this season.

“Then there’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who continues to demonstrate his will and determination,” Trezeguet added.

AC Milan might have not been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks but they continue to apply pressure on rivals Inter, with a six-point gap separating the two teams.

“Nobody expected Milan at a certain level, but they are proving to be competitive,” the Frenchman added. “The level of the championship has increased a lot, it’s more fun.”
