Bale returned on a season-long loan to Spurs in an attempt to recapture his old form by playing regularly under Jose Mourinho.
The Wales international’s return to North London was not that rosy as he failed to impress initially but seems to have hit top form in recent weeks for the Londoners.
Bale was reportedly having a sour relationship with Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane and the fans due to his antics off the field, but the former Southampton man is not giving up on his time in Madrid, as he plans to see out his remaining year on his contract.
Bale is currently on international duty with Wales and has revealed he returned to Tottenham to have game time ahead of the Euros.
“There’s no distraction for me,” Bale told of his future plans speaking ahead of Wales’s World Cup qualifier against Belgium, via Goal.
“I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost.
“Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid.
“My plan is to go back, that’s as far I have planned.”
The 31-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur so far this season.
