Calhanoglu has revealed he has been a fan of the Turkish giants since he was a kid, and will be eager to wear the famous yellow and red jersey.
The 27-year-old has been with the Rossoneri since the beginning of the 2017/2018 season after his three-year adventure at the BayArena with Bayer Leverkusen ended.
He has since established himself as one of the best players in AC Milan and was instrumental when Stefano Pioli’s men rose to finish sixth on the Serie A table last season.
Calhanoglu remains a key player under head coach Pioli, having already netted seven goals and provided eleven assists in all competitions so far.
The former Hamburg midfielder is in his final year in Milan as his contract is set to expire in the summer and AC Milan face a race against time to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
Calhanoglu has been tipped to leave San Siro in the summer, with teams like Manchester United and Juventus monitoring the midfielder’s current situation, but the Turkish has revealed his desire to play for Galatasaray.
“I hope to play for Galatasaray in the future,” said Calhanoglu, via Football Italia. “Why not? I got a lion tattoo because I cheer for Galatasaray.”
