Benitez Eyes Return To Premier League Management

Former Liverpool and Newcastle head coach Rafael Benitez has revealed his next step in management will be a return to the Premier League.

Benitez has been without a club since ending his 18-month stint with Chinese club Dalian Pro in January and has insisted he wants to get back to management as soon as possible.

The Spanish coach has been very successful during his previous time in England. He was introduced to the English game in 2004, when he took over as Liverpool head coach.

Despite failing to win the Premier League at Anfield, he won the Champions League and FA Cup with the Reds before leaving in 2010.

After a forgettable short stint in Italy with Inter Milan, Benitez returned to the Premier League to coach Chelsea on interim basis following the dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo.

Chelsea won the Europa League and finished in the top four in the 2012/2013 season under the tutelage of Benitez.

Benitez is also respected in Newcastle after returning the club to the Premier League in 2017 before recording finishes of 10th and 13th on a limited budget.

The 60-year-old is now available and has revealed his intention to return to the Premier League.

"The priority is England," Benitez told The Sunday Times. "Why? Because obviously I like the Premier League and my family is here.

"I have a lot [of offers] from the Emirates, United States, Brazil, China, but I want to stay in Europe. And I want to stay in England.

"If it's the right one, we can do it tomorrow but the project, the competitive team, is not there at the moment so we have to wait.

"But I don't want to stay without working. I want to be on the pitch as soon as possible."
