Joe Hart Apologises For Social Media Gaffe After Spurs’ Europa League Exit

Joe Hart has apologised for a social media error that celebrated a non-existent Tottenham Hotspur ‘victory’ in Thursday night’s Europa League exit at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.

Despite taking a 2-0 lead into the second leg against the Croatia side, Jose Mourinho’s men threw away their advantage in regulation time and conceded another goal in extra-time to bow out of the competition thanks to Mislav Orsic’s hattrick.

Hart was an unused substitute in Zagreb but a post which read ‘Job Done’ appeared on his Instagram timeline after the game, apparently to celebrate a win in Spurs’ favour.

Hart has clarified the post did not come from him personally but from a member of his social media team who thought Spurs had won.

"Morning guys, I feel like I need to come on and make an apology on behalf of my social media team," the former Manchester City goalkeeper explained.

"It has just been brought to my attention, I've literally just woke up, that someone thought that we'd won 3-0 last night.

"As sloppy as it sounds, it's the truth. Posted 'job done'.

"That's unacceptable and I'm sure it's annoyed a lot of people and I'm sorry it's come to that.

"It's obviously not come from me and I've got nothing but love for the club and support for the team.

"I'm just as down as the boys are, so apologies.

"Unfortunately its happened but just know it didn't come from any other place other than a typo.

"Have a great day."
