Ferdinand believes the Norway superstar is the right man that can bring success back at Old Trafford.
Manchester United were said to be interested in Haaland during his latter days in Red Bull Salzburg but the youngster opted to join Borussia Dortmund in January 2020.
Haaland has lived up to his hype since moving to Germany, having established himself one of the best players in Europe.
The 20-year-old has been linked to almost every big club in Europe due to his meteoric rise to prominence with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain all said to be yearning to defray Dortmund’s asking price for one of their prized assets.
Ferdinand has backed his former club to beat other rivals to secure the services of the former Molde FK man.
“You know what, they’ve just got to go and give everything to get Haaland, I don’t care,” he said on the Scramble YouTube channel.
“I don’t like to talk about players coming from other teams but this guy man, we can’t afford to let this guy go anywhere else.
“His only destination is England, that’s the only place he’s going. If he goes anywhere else I’d be so surprised.
“Born here, born and bred. He obviously loves English football, his dad played here. I’m sure it’s one of his dreams to come and play in England.
“Why not in the red shirt at Old Trafford? Be the guy that brings trophies back to Man United and brings the successful period back. Be that guy.”
Haaland is having another sizzling season at the Signal Iduna as he has scored 31 goals in 30 games for the Black and Yellows.
