Salah Deserves More Praise, Says Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that Egypt superstar Mohamed Salah does not get enough credit for his stellar performances for the club.

Salah has gradually etched his name among the finest players in the world since he joined Liverpool from AS Roma before the beginning of the 2017/2018 season.

The Egyptian helped the Reds to their sixth Champions League cup and a first league title in 30 years last season.

The 28-year-old has scored 118 goals and provided 45 assists in 186 games so far for Liverpool.

Salah is once again having a good season at Anfield as he has already netted 24 goals in 34 matches, but according to Klopp, the former Chelsea man does not get the necessary credit he deserves from the fans and media.

“He doesn’t get the credit, I don’t know because it is really strange and unexplainable. Why shouldn’t he get the credit? He gets the credit here internally for sure, for all these things,” Klopp assured.

“He played an outstanding game against Leipzig on Tuesday, and not only because he scored but also in all of the other parts.

“Actually, my favorite moment in the game, especially a knockout game, but I would say it’s one of my favorites in general, was when he won the heading challenge in our own box like after 87 minutes or something. When Angelino was in his back and wanted to volley the ball in.

“So yes, he played an outstanding game and he gets all the respect from us. If you don’t give him the right amount of respect you have to ask yourself why that’s the case. But the numbers and the performances cannot be the reason.”
