The Blues have made a bright start to life under Tuchel as they secured their third consecutive victory against the Blades in an action-packed game at the Bramall Lane.
Sheffield United could not take the lead after a fairly good start to the game but allowed the visitors to score the opener when Mason Mount arrived late in the box to smash home a cutback pass from Timo Werner two minutes before the interval.
Chris Wilder’s men got the equalizer when Antonio Rudiger’s misplaced back pass beat Edouard Mendy within nine minutes after the break.
The hosts’ equalizer was short-lived when Chelsea restored their advantage four minutes later from the penalty spot through Jorginho after goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale tripped Werner inside the area.
"We go step by step and will always prepare every match to win. We have a team that is ready and wants to win. It creates a winning mentality. You can feel this when you step through the door at the training ground,” Tuchel said after the game.
"It was a tough game to watch. Many situations where it was difficult and many things can happen. Lots of long balls and crosses. We could control the game in the opponent half for many minutes, but then you get the deep ball in your half. They had some self-confidence because of their recent wins. I am happy with the responses to the questions we were asked.
"We were lucky in the beginning not to concede first. We were not aggressive enough. But then you want to play with a clean sheet. Normally it should not happen between goalkeeper and defender but mistakes happen. The response was good though."
