'I Am Very Happy' - Says Tuchel After Chelsea Victory Over Spurs

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has declared himself a happy man after his side beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the Premier League on Thursday.

The Blues put up another stellar performance under new boss Tuchel against a side managed by their former boss Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea were completely dominant in the opening stages of the game and got their deserved lead through the penalty spot inside 24 minutes thanks to Jorginho after Timo Werner was  brought down in the area by Eric Dier.

The visitors took the lead into the break and could have been out of sight in the second half as they passed many opportunities to get the second goal despite a much improved display from Spurs after the break.

"Every experience we make is a step forward if we are opening to learning from it,” Tuchel, who won his first game on the road, told reporters after the game.

“The whole first half we totally controlled the game, very high up the pitch. Maybe we lost confidence in the second half because we lost the ball possession. We never lost the belief or structure. If it is necessary to suffer, you have to suffer.

"A bit more killer instinct and aggressive in the box, it would have been nice to decide and there were chances, but we lacked a bit of determination in the box. It was a big win in an away game and I am very happy.

"It is not only about tactics, about how we play and live it. They lived it 100% with full power and intensity.

“We never lost the belief, faith or courage to push high and for that you have to be brave and we were the winners in the end."

Chelsea will look to extend their winning run to three consecutive games when they visit Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United on Sunday.
