Lampard was sacked on Monday after just 18 months in charge following Chelsea’s poor run of form in recent weeks.
Names like Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount all sent positive messages about their former trainer via their various social media handles.
Azpilicueta: “I have shared many memories with you since 2012, first as team-mate and then as manager. I’ve learned so much from you. I wish you all the best for the future.’

Reece James: “As a Chelsea fan growing up I’ve always looked up to you, idolized you. I can’t explain what it’s been like to play under you, the whole journey has been surreal. I cannot thank you enough for putting your trust into me and giving me the opportunity to play for my boyhood club!

According to reports in the media, Lampard will be replaced by former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel.
