Trippier was banned by the FA in December but FIFA temporarily suspended the ban at the start of the year pending an appeal by his club.
Tripper was charged for the breaches in May last year, with the offenses thought to have occurred in July 2019 during his time with Tottenham Hotspurs.
The 30-year-old England international is believed to have advised a friend to bet on his transfer from Tottenham to Atletico Madrid.
"The FIFA Appeal Committee has dismissed the appeal lodged by the club Atletico Madrid in a case concerning the player Kieran Trippier,” an official statement from football’s governing body on Monday read.
"As a consequence, the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee passed on 23 December 2020 is confirmed, extending sanctions imposed on the player by the English FA to have worldwide effect."
Trippier, who was also fined £70,000, will now miss Atletico’s next seven La Liga matches as well as their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg clash against Chelsea on February 23.
The regulation which Trippier is thought to have breached states: "Where a participant provides to any other person any information relating to football which the participant has obtained by virtue of his or her position within the game and which is not publicly available at that time, the participant shall be in breach of this rule where any of that information is used by that other person for, or in relation to, betting."
Trippier has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Atletico Madrid this season.
