Gilmour is widely rated as one of the youngsters with huge potential and he is gradually living up to the expectation.
His role model Fabregas is still going strong even at the age of 33-year-old as he is currently plying his trade in France for Monaco.
During his heydays, the Spaniard played for Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea, winning many laurels and etching his name as one of the very best midfielders in the game.
Gilmour has always praised Fabregas whenever he gets the opportunity and that is the case this time.
“When I was watching Cesc, it was all about his forward passes to the striker, whether that was a lofted pass, a clipped ball or just a simple through ball,” the Scot told Chelsea’s official website.
“He was one of the best at doing that, especially at Chelsea, and I want to add that more to my own game, but it comes first of all from being aware of what’s around you.
“He speaks a lot about the boys because he obviously used to be here but it’s always nice seeing a top midfielder like that comment on your game.”
Gilmour burst onto the scene in the second round of last season and managed to play eleven games in all competitions for Chelsea and he is now yearning to cement a regular place in a star-studded squad.
