Gnabry was part of the Bayern Munich team that conquered Europe last season in stunning fashion and he is now seeking for more success as the season is about to get to its business end.
The Bavarian giants swooped the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal before showing their dominance in Lisbon by comfortably beating the likes of Barcelona and Lyon to reach the final where they beat French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain to their sixth trophy in the competition.
Hansi Flick’s men also became the first team in the competition’s history to win eleven games in a row. Scoring an incredible 43 goals in 11 games, they fell just two goals short of matching Barcelona’s tally of 45.
Despite being in the early stages, the German champions look like a team that can defend their crown having comfortably topped a group that had Atletico Madrid, RB Salszburg and Lokomotiv Moscow.
Bayern Munich have been paired against Serie A side Lazio in the Round of 16 and Gnabry is hoping his team-mates defend the trophy.
Gnabry told The Daily Mail: “We have a team at the moment that’s filled with so much talent, so much character, so much drive. Our aim is or will be to win the Champions League as many times as we can, whilst we are at that peak.
“Maybe like Barcelona or Real Madrid, who won it three times in a row. We want to do the same things.
“Hopefully in a couple of years [at the end of your career], to know that you’ve made history is something no one can take from you.
“And looking back at the trophies and especially the memories that you’ve had lifting the trophy, winning, seeing the team, spending time with your mates, those are things that I want to remember when I finish my career.”
