Leicester City Hold Man United To Entertaining 2-2 Draw At King Power Stadium

Leicester City halted Manchester United’s 10-game winning streak away from home in the Premier League on Saturday when the two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium.

The visitors made a bright start to the game and were nearly rewarded with the opener inside two minutes but Marcus Rashford missed a sitter when he headed Bruno Fernandes’ cleverly chipped pass over the top from just six yards out.

Rashford atoned for his earlier miss on the 22nd minute mark when he got on the end of another Fernandes pass and this time, the England international cleverly dispatched the chance to give United the lead for the first time in a Premier League away game this season.

Fresh from providing an assist for Rashford’s opener, Fernandes lost possession in his own half, allowing James Maddison to feed Harvey Barnes, whose 20-yard strike evaded David De Gea in the United goal for Leicester City’s equaliser in the 30th minute.

Fernandes came close to restoring United’s lead in the 36th minute but the Portuguese’s header from Luke Shaw’s free-kick sailed just over the bar.

Kasper Schmeichel in the Leicester City goal foiled Rashford’s attempt to re-establish United’s lead in the 60th minute with a good one-handed save from a shot struck 15 yards out.

Just minutes after coming on as a substitute for Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani’s through pass found Fernandes, who sent his strike beyond Schmeichel for his 10th league goal of the season in the 79th minute.

But the Foxes had the last laugh as they conjured up another equaliser after Jamie Vardy’s shot from Ayoze Perez’s cross deflected off Axel Tuanzebe into the United net five minutes from time.
