Vardy finished last season as the top scorer in the Premier League with 23 goals helping Leicester to finish fifth - their second highest spot in their history.
The 33-year-old is currently the joint-third top scorer so far this season with nine goals in ten games.
In a press conference ahead of Leicester City’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, Brendan Rodgers revealed his secret in getting the best out of the former Fleetwood Town striker and insists Vardy is up there as one of the best strikers in Europe.
“You let the player know that you believe in him. He’s a striker that I’ve always admired. We try to feed into the front players as quickly as we possibly can," he said.
“We have to give him quality service, and when we do that there’s not many players better. When he’s away on goal, you don’t think of anything but ‘goal’
“He gets me and what I’m looking for. He’s got the personality, and my ideal footballer has that mental strength. We have to play to the strengths and quality to one of the best strikers in Europe”
The Leicester City boss updated the media about Jonny Evans, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
“Jonny wants to be here, and he’s been instrumental in what I’ve done here," said Rodgers.
"He’s a coach for me on the field and understands the game at the highest level and understands the journey of where we’re trying to get to.
“His value to myself, the coaches and the team is huge and he knows that”
