Turan, in last year, had a brawl with Berkay Sahin that ended with a broken nose for the latter before the former Atletico Madrid forward followed up to the hospital and shot at the floor.
After an investigation into the matter by the court, Turan who is currently on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir has been sentenced for causing panic and fear, illegal possession of weapons and intentional injury.
However, Turan has been handed two years and eight months jail sentence which he will not spend in prison unless he commits another crime in the next five years.
Turan’s new club Istanbul Basaksehir also released a statement stressing the 32-year-old has been fined 2.5 million Turkish lira (£350,000).
Showing remorse to his act, Turan took to his Instagram account to apologise to his club and family.
"I learned lessons from these events," he wrote.
"The headline of this event is that I'm acquitted of the charges of harassment; not the penalties I received for errors I made due to these slanders thrown at me."
Having joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid in 2015 for a reported €34 million, the controversial forward featured 55 times for the Blaugrana with 15 goals, winning four major trophies with the Catalan giants.
Turan, in last season, recorded fourteen appearances with two assists for Istanbul Basaksehir in the Turkish Super League with the side finishing second on the league log with 67 points, missing out on the title to Galatasaray.
