Campbell insists Eriksen’s past ties with Spurs should not hinder Arsenal from signing the Denmark international when a chance presents itself.
Eriksen became one of the best players in England during his time in North London, but his time in the Premier League came to an end after six-and-a-half years when he moved to Inter Milan in the January transfer window.
A move to play in the Serie A has not gone as planned as he does not get many starting opportunities under coach Antonio Conte.
The former Ajax man has been linked with a move out of San Siro and Campbell, who once played for Tottenham Hotspur during his playing days, has urged Arsenal to go in for Eriksen.
“Eriksen played for the rivals but we all know the quality he possesses, that is for sure,” the Englishman told Football Insider.
“It is not quite working out for him at Inter right now and I am sure he would be a good addition to Arsenal’s squad.
“I do not care if he played for Spurs – he is a superb player who can bring something to the table for Arsenal.
“I would not mind it if we swapped Eriksen for Xhaka. The key is building and fattening that squad up to challenge and you can never have enough quality players.”
