Pogba was heavily linked with a move from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window with Real Madrid touted as one of his likeliest destinations alongside former club Juventus.
The 26-year-old’s agent Mino Raiola revealed he was engineering his exit from the red half of Manchester while the player himself did not help matters by declaring he was interested in a new challenge.
Pogba eventually stayed put at Old Trafford and has started each of the Red Devils’ first four league games of the season, but he picked up a knock in their last game against Southampton that ruled him out of France’s EURO 2020 qualifiers against Albania and Andorra.
Real Madrid are likely to test Manchester United’s resolve with another pursuit of Pogba next summer, and Los Blancos skipper Ramos, says the Frenchman will be welcome to the Santiago Bernabeu if he makes the move.
‘I think Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him,’ Ramos told the Daily Express.
‘For me, Pogba is one of the great players. He is different and he has shown his value at Juventus and now Manchester United.
‘I think he brings balance to a team. He has a great offensive influence and he has this amazing physique.’
Ramos and Real Madrid have begun the La Liga season with a win and two draws from their opening three games.
