Umtiti was rumored to be part of a Barcelona package to PSG that would have seen the return of Neymar to the Camp Nou, while Arsenal were reportedly keeping tabs on the 25-year-old until they recruited David Luiz from Chelsea.
Umtiti had an injury-hit campaign last time out, making just 14 La Liga appearances as Barcelona won the league, and he is yet to feature in any of the three La Liga games so far this season.
Fellow French international Clement Lenglet has taken Umtiti’s place in the Barcelona set-up alongside Gerard Pique, but the former Lyon defender says a move away from the Camp Nou was never in the pipeline.
Beginning with the suggestions of the move to PSG, he said to Canal+: "Me? Part of an exchange? It's crazy anyway! It made me laugh. I don't even have an answer."
“Honestly, I don't know where this rumour with Arsenal came from,” the world cup winner added.
“Overnight, I received messages from my friends 'ah, so you are joining Arsenal?' I'm not, I'm sorry but I'm staying at Barcelona.
"Contacts with Arsenal? To be honest, I don't know if they had conversations with my agent, I just told him that I didn't care what was happening this summer and that it wasn't even necessary to talk to me about it.
“It was useless, I was going to have the same answer. My dream as a child is to play for Barcelona. Last season was the most difficult of my career, especially in terms of injuries.”
