Tottenham Hotspur recovered from their shocking defeat last week against Royal Antwerp to record a comprehensive victory in Razgrad.
Harry Kane put the visitors ahead with his 200th goal for the club in the opening 13 minutes before Brazil international Lucas Moura got Tottenham’s second on the 33rd minute mark.
The hosts were given a glimmer of hope from striker Claudiu Keseru by cutting the deficit five minutes after the break but Giovani Lo Celso restored Tottenham’s two-goal cushion midway through the game and that was enough to put the game beyond Stanislav Genchev’s men.
"We started the game with ambition, which was different to what we did in Antwerp. So good attitude to start. We tried to kill the game in the first half,” Mourinho told Sky Sports after his side’s big win in Bulgaria.
"It was not possible with 2-0 because 2-0 the result is still open, but it was a strong start and performance with two good goals and hitting the post.
"We completely dominated and I don't remember one single situation for them of danger. That made a difference because in Antwerp we gave an advantage to the opponent and then when they were good they were winning. They closed everything the way they could and we couldn't react."
Tottenham Hotspur will make a trip to the Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Sunday.
