Solskjaer Hopes To Mark Milestone With A Win Against Arsenal

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be managing Manchester United for the 100th time when the Red Devils face Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, and the Norwegian tactician will be hoping to mark such a momentous milestone with a victory.

Solskjaer was drafted in as Manchester United manager in December 2018 to replace Jose Mourinho, who was sacked due to the club’s poor start to the 2018/2019 season.

The former Cardiff City boss is still working on a rebuild at Old Trafford as United are yet to win the Premier League since the 2012/2013 season.

"I’m surprised it’s 100," Solskjaer said on Friday when told about the upcoming milestone in his press conference.

“"It’s gone really quickly. Let’s hope I can celebrate with a good performance and result. I’ve enjoyed it so far.

"We keep on working, we want to develop, we want to improve. It's not up to me to say how far we’ve come.”

“I’ve been very pleased with the response after the start of the season.”

“We had to hang in early on and try to get points on the board. Now we feel fit and strong and competitive in every game."

Solskjaer was also asked about who could be challenging at the top of the table come the end of season.

"So many clubs have developed strength in depth and ability to challenge for trophies. The top two have run away with it in the last two seasons but this year a lot of us would hope to put up a challenge,” he added.

"Back then [when Solskjaer played] it was Arsenal, then Chelsea. Now it’s more exciting and interesting for the fans. Anything can happen, as this season has shown. We're taking it one game at a time."
