Maguire has endured a torrid few weeks, in which he was arrested and found guilty of aggravated assault and attempted bribery during an ill-fated holiday in Mykonos, Greece, conceded 11 Premier League goals in just three leagues games at the start of this season and was sent off for England on Wednesday during their match against Denmark following two bookable offences on Yussuf Poulsen and Kasper Dolberg on the 31st minute mark.
Solskjaer has been urged by fans and the media to take Maguire out of the firing line for his own good, but the Norwegian coach is unwilling to do so, and insists the Englishman will bounce back.
"When Harry beats the number-one ranked team in the world in Belgium it's a normal day. Then you get the headlines when you get a sending off, that's football. You have to deal with it,” Solskjaer said in his press conference ahead of Manchester United’s visit to the St James’ Park to face Newcastle United on Saturday.
"Harry has got great resilience. He knows he will bounce back. He wants to play and work his way out of the last couple of games he's been criticised for.
"But he picked up a knock just before he came off the other night so we'll have a look at him today."
